A group of ten Year 12 students had the opportunity to go down to Hillary Outdoors located in Tongariro National Park. The camp had a focus on building leadership skills where students took part in a range of outdoor activities. Activities included canoeing on Lake Taupo and jumping off bridges into freezing cold water on Monday. Tackling a high ropes course then bush bashing to a flying fox over a gorge on Tuesday. Wednesday saw an overnight expedition where the students stayed in alpine conditions in between Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngauruhoe. The last two days consisted of caving, where a few boys found out claustrophobia is a real thing, and seeing snow for the first time. We would like to thank Pub Charity and North Foundation for helping to fund this trip.
