Talifekau Sosefo, Year 13 Prefect, spoke at assembly on Wednesday 28 June.
Today, I will be talking to you about the importance of not giving up, both in the classroom and on the rugby field. We all face many challenges that can make us feel overwhelmed or discouraged.
In the classroom, we deal with challenging assignments and complex subjects. When we can’t understand anything or when we get a bad grade, it's easy to get frustrated and desire to give up. But let me tell you my fellow brothers, every challenge is a chance for growth. We can overcome any academic challenge by pushing ourselves despite the challenges.
The same on the rugby field, we play against challenging opponents in tough physical games on the rugby field. When we lose a game or feel like our efforts are going unappreciated, it can be discouraging. But keep in mind that it’s in those times that we have to find strength, support one another, and continue moving forward. By not giving up, we build resilience, teamwork, and the sense of accomplishment that comes from knowing we gave it our all.
So my fellow brothers, let’s make a commitment to never give up. Let's look at difficulties as chances to improve both in the classroom and on the rugby field. Every single one of you can accomplish amazing things, go above and beyond your own goals and grow as individuals
I’d like to leave you all with a quote from Martin Luther king “ if you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward”.
Confortare Esto Vir. Thank you.
