Basketball

Our basketball teams are coming to the business end of the season where our Under 15 Maroon are performing well, with all Under 15 players working hard to earn a spot at North Island Champs, held in tournament week in September.

Our 1st V recently suffered a narrow loss to Rutherford, in what has been a challenging season for our Premier basketballers, Ethan Ropati-Delaney (Year 13) has remained steadfast in his approach.

Rugby League

Our 1st XIII recently drew with De La Salle, 10 all. On a field which didn't suit our fit and athletic players, St Paul's struggled to close out the game with errors keeping De La Salle in the contest. We win or we learn, and thanks to Atelea Barron-Afeaki (Year 13) who rain, wind or otherwise - videos Premier rugby and league games every week to help coaches review and improve performance. Next up is Southern Cross and then semi-finals for the 1st XIII.

Our Under 15 Maroon team continue their strong season as they close in on a semi-final, a 26-10 win over One Tree Hill College will likely confirm their status as competition favourites, however not to be outdone, our Under 15 Blue team, made up largely of Year 9's are not to be left behind, they recently drew 10-10 with Tamaki College, meaning they will need to beat One Tree hill to earn a grand final spot against our Under 15 Maroon team. There is a wealth of talent coming through Year 9 and 10, it has been a privilege to watch both teams this season.

Rugby Union

Our 1st XV suffered narrow losses to Mt Albert Grammar 22-19 and Dilworth 17-13 over the last two rounds. The gap has been closing all season for this team against much more experienced, resourced and established 1st XV teams. Keep it up gentlemen - you have brought the College community together and we have all admired your resilience in a challenging season.

Our Under 14 team has been strong all year and currently sit in second place. Our Under 15 team has also been consistent with their commitment, meaning they are also in second place. Our 2nd XV Gold team are sitting in first place after a strong year, a glimpse into the future for our rugby program. Last, but certainly not least, our 2nd XV Maroon are in fourth place and will need to work hard for their remaining games against Liston and Mt Albert Grammar to compete in finals.

Thank you once again to all our volunteer coaches, without your commitment, your time, your knowledge - none of the above results would be possible.
