On Thursday 4 July we had the opportunity to host the opening of our Shade Canopy for our young men with a special blessing by Fr Glenford Lowe. Joining our staff and students at the blessing and opening of the shade canopy were Ms Bernice Mene, our Board Chair, Mrs Janne Pender, Proprietor Chair of St Paul’s College Auckland Limited, Mr Terry Carter, Proprietor Board, Br Tim Leen, Mr Lio Va'auli, Mrs Pina Cocker (Board Members) and Mr Daniel Boakes, Project Manager, Shade Systems. 

Fr Glenford Lowe blessed the canopy and prayed for the young men who would be using the shade and invoked the Lord to protect all who used the facility. Ms Bernice Mene, our Board Chair cut the ribbon to declare the Shade Canopy open. The young men were given the opportunity for the first time to play under the shade with it serving its purpose on the day in the beautiful sunshine.
