This week, the Year 12 and 13 media students had the exciting opportunity to visit Wētā Workshop Unleashed, an experience that perfectly complemented their current film projects in class. The visit offered an immersive behind-the-scenes look at the world of professional filmmaking, providing the students with valuable insights that directly align with their ongoing creative work.

As they toured the workshop, the students were amazed by the intricate sets, props, and special effects that Wētā Workshop is famous for. The experience brought to life the fantasy, horror, and sci-fi genres, showing how storytelling is enhanced through meticulous craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.

The visit not only inspired the students but also provided them with practical knowledge to apply to their own films. Seeing the professional standards at Wētā Workshop motivated them to push the boundaries of their creativity and strive for excellence in their projects.

Joey Schuster, one of our top media students, has recently achieved outstanding success by winning Overall Best Director and Best Film at the Poporazzi Productions film competition. Known for his strong and unique style of filmmaking, Joey’s work stood out among a competitive field, earning him these prestigious awards and solidifying his reputation as a rising talent in the Pacific filmmaking sphere.
