Tongan Language Week 2024

Week 5 saw St Paul’s celebrate Tongan Language Week. The theme for this year was 'E tu'uloa 'a e lea faka-Tongá 'o ka lea'aki 'i 'api, siasí (lotú), mo e nofo-'a-kāingá - The Tongan Language will be sustainable when used at home, church and in the wider community.

The week saw students celebrate Tongan culture in a variety of ways. Whether it was addressing the school during morning assembly, celebrating it during chapel or taking part in language week activities during class and break times, students were encouraged to embrace Tongan culture and this year's theme.

Well done to Alfred Manu (Year 11) and John Tangi (Year 12) who were chosen as this year's speakers and who showed great pride in celebrating their culture. Thank you also to those boys who volunteered to showcase their culture to the local primary schools. A huge thank you also goes to Ms Manu for supporting these students and running activities during lunch time with Jones Cocker (Year 12) taking out first prize.
