This week we gathered together in Communion as a whole school for the final time this year. The Mass was celebrated by Fr Glenford Lowe and Fr Sam Fancourt. During his Homily Fr Sam reflected on the importance of family spirit, spreading the Kingdom of God through peace. He inspired the students in his reflection about the fights they should be choosing to fight ‘the good fight.’ This is about choosing faith, choosing right over wrong and choosing to go out and make a difference in the world to serve and do justice.
The whole school honoured the Year 13 cohort and gave them a special Blessing for their continued life journeys and discipleship in Christ. It is a true testament to the family spirit of the school and the faith of our young men that the rest of the school all held up their hands to Bless the Year 13s and wholeheartedly joined in blessing them. It is a feature of our faith to remind ourselves on the graces and blessing bestowed on us by God and ask for those for others. There was a true feeling that Year 13s left the Mass with the wind at their back and the love of God in their sails, to go out and become the Disciples they have been called to be.
In Christ,
