During the holidays a group of St Paul's Year 9 and 10 students embarked on an exciting cultural and educational Malaga to Samoa. This unique experience, aimed at broadening students’ understanding of Samoan culture, tradition, and education, involved visits to three schools Don Bosco Youth Center, St. Joseph's College, and Robert Louis Stevenson College. Each of these schools offered the students opportunities to engage with local Samoan students, observe their school routines, and participate in educational and cultural activities.
The students also experienced island life in the village of Solosolo, participating in crop harvesting, food prep and living in a communal fale. We spent time in Upolu and Savaii visiting local landmarks and participating in a range of Samoan customs. Special thanks to the families that helped us along the way and the teachers that gave their time to supervise.
