Services Academy Induction Camp 2025
Our 21 Services Academy students recently completed their annual two-week induction camp at Whenuapai Airbase’s Youth Development Unit. With 5:30am starts and action-packed days through to lights out at 9:00pm, this camp pushed our young men to their limits—physically, mentally, and emotionally.
This year’s Academy raised the bar in terms of engagement, enthusiasm, and competitiveness. Their effort and attitude were continuously impressive, with the NZDF even remarking on the "different energy" from St Paul's this year. Our young men embraced every challenge with consistent performance, cool heads and a positive attitude, representing St Paul's College to the highest of standards.
Induction camp provided valuable Education Outside the Classroom experiences while allowing students to earn NCEA credits through the year. Key focus areas included effective communication, teamwork, personal development, critical thinking, and physical challenges.
I am incredibly proud of this group and look forward to seeing them build on these experiences throughout the year.
