A three day experiential learning programme.
Last week, all the Year 10 students were involved in a fun and authentic way to engage with experiential learning conducted by Young Enterprise Scheme NZ from Wellington. The BP business challenge is a unique three day experiential learning programme that develops skills, understanding and attitudes about how entrepreneurs start a business and how a successful business operates, and connects the students with their local business community.
The students develop their employability skills of:
- Team work
- Leadership
- Presentation skills
- Problem solving
- Resilience
- Communication
On the final day, the students presented their business ideas, creations and discoveries to a panel of judges. The judges, who were typically local business people, evaluated each team’s presentation and determined a winning team. All the students were awarded with a certificate from YES.
