2021 Sacramental Programme Candidates
This week our 2021 Sacramental Programme candidates completed their sacramental programme after many COVID setbacks delayed it from happening last year. The seven young men who attended the mass with their whānau were Atelea Barron-Afeaki, Nathan David, Waka Tate, Mita Tate, Augustino Petersen, Jeremiah Havea and Orlando Malakai. Four of these students were baptised, and all received the sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Holy Communion.
There's nothing more encouraging than seeing young St Paul's men stepping forward in confidence and investing in their faith both now and for the future. It was also such a blessing to see our young men so beautifully supported by their sponsors, Godparents, whānau and friends. Special thanks go to Fr Rory and Sacred Heart Parish for offering their stunning church, Fr Patrick Breeze for celebrating the mass, Mrs Jackie Linn for being instrumental in running the sacramental formation for our young men, and Mrs D'Souza for her ongoing involvement with the programme.
We will once again be offering the Sacramental Programme in 2022, and as previously mentioned, St Paul's College is strongly encouraging parents to sign-up their sons in the programme if they have enrolled as a 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 or 5.5 preference. This is to acknowledge the importance of the Catholic faith and its significance to our special character. The programme is open to students at ALL year levels, so if you're interested, please email Mr Schryvers: [email protected] as soon as possible.
