Sport and the opportunities it provides in and out of the classroom are highly valued at St Paul’s College. Many old boys have gone on to very long and successful careers in professional sport, proving that with hard work, discipline and commitment – anything is possible.

We offer a wide range of sporting opportunities for students at both beginner and premier levels. From Badminton to Basketball, Rugby 7’s to Cricket and back, there is a sport team for everyone at St Paul’s.

Our current sports participation rates are some of the highest in the country and it is expected that every student plays at least one sport for the college.

Each sporting code is assigned a Teacher-in-Charge while each team is allocated a coach and manager who ensure the smooth running and organisation of their team. They all, in turn, report to the Director of Sport.

Summer and winter code 'sign-up days' are held pre-season and students should listen to the daily notices at assembly for these and attend them to register their interest.

St Paul's College is a member of ASSHA (The Auckland Secondary Schools Heads Association Inc. (operating as ASB College Sport).

Our Sports Office, which is open daily during the week, is the first place to visit for any student inquiries about participating in a sports team.
